The kink or the WTP the rest are crap.
03-31-09, 01:05 AM
Well ok thanks for the help. What would recommend for 475 or under? please watch the weight a little. im only 15 and 125lbs. Getting a 28+lbs bike is kinda hard sometimes.(danscomp isnt always right on weight, Look on company of bike and usally its light). But ya what would you guys recommend? thanks
03-31-09, 07:09 AM
the kink and the WTP are both solid
03-31-09, 12:02 PM
sweet thanks. Ok one more thing do yuo guys think the kink transition is really 25lbs 10oz or do you think dans is riht at 27lbs 7oz? Alos here is the wtp beyond. its an 08 and looks nice. how is it? http://www.danscomp.com/101779.php?cat=BIKES
03-31-09, 12:12 PM
Dans is pretty close on weight.
03-31-09, 01:02 PM
ok so the wtp beyond how is that? i kinda want a 26lb bike and it looks good. Or should i just go with the wtp addict. THats 26lbs to. so which do you think is better?
03-31-09, 02:38 PM
Wtp beyond is nice too. Seriously don't worry about weight. I rode a 40lb bike when i was like 12 - 13 and had no problem bunny hoping up alot of stuff, curbs benches boxes, could hop that bike about 2 skateboard decks high, sometimes 3. Used to hit huge dirt jumps on it with no problem, learned how to grind on it, and once i moved to a lighter bike i was alot better. Its almost better to learn on a heavy bike. Be a man!
I know my first bike was like 35lbs. and I could still manage. This was when I was about 14, definitely a bit smaller and much weaker than I am now. If weight is that big of a concern, start taking some protein and lifting...
03-31-09, 05:14 PM
The Beyond is a really nice bike and that's a good price. But like Fuzzy said, the WTP and Kink are solid.
03-31-09, 05:17 PM
haha started at 32 lbs when i was 13. goooooood times
03-31-09, 06:35 PM
ya. i only started riding a year ago. The bike i have is 34pds. I can do all i need but the bigger stuff i do on other peoples bike. its a lot smoother. Then i decided i would do a big double on mine(6ft tall 30ft far) and i landed hard and my forks are at a 90 degree angle=(( and yes i did eat it. Ya i just dont want a super heavy bike but 27 28 is good with me cause 28 really aint much. Well i think im gonna get the wtp beyond. I really like that its running a 28 10 not he 25 9. Thanks for all the help guys. Its been awasome. Thsnks again.
03-31-09, 07:41 PM
I'm glad I could help. Haha. Have fun with it.
04-01-09, 02:18 PM
now we just need to help him with spelling and grammar.
04-01-09, 05:16 PM
Haha but that's another day.
04-01-09, 06:23 PM
i guess so
04-01-09, 07:14 PM
ok well i have picked the 3 i like most now you tell me whats the best.....
04-02-09, 10:07 AM
i like all of em lol...and they have two different size drivetrains, so i guess its pretty much your preference on that
04-02-09, 07:03 PM
I'd go with the Beyond.
04-02-09, 08:17 PM
ya but ive heard a lot of good stuff about the verde. What are the pros and cons of the two?? i dont have much knowledge of bikes. I just ride
04-02-09, 08:25 PM
I've never really heard anything about Verde.
04-02-09, 08:33 PM
Verde is decent, just starting out but id go for something a little more tried and true.
04-02-09, 08:57 PM
like the beyond
04-02-09, 09:24 PM
dont get the WTP to heavy for its price
My friend has the TRL 2 and its a good bike, worth the money, and its light
go with the tl2
04-02-09, 09:33 PM
The TRL2 is a rip-off for the price. There's not enough chromoly on it. The WTP is a much better bike for the price. Twenty-six pounds isn't that much at all either. And besides, the TRL2 weighs just as much.
04-02-09, 09:54 PM
Yeah, wow. The trl 2 is such a POS i can't believe fit thinks they can charge that much for such a garbage frame. The WTP is a VERY solid complete, great components, full chromoly, sealed cranks, hubs, headset, couldn't ask for more.
04-02-09, 09:56 PM
The verde is a very similar set up and both are really good deals right now.
04-02-09, 11:21 PM
so wtp or verde .......fuzzy? i like them both but i heard the rims on the beyond arent the best. but idk thats what i was told. Well whats better fuzzy?
I know I'm a noob. But back when I was riding I had heard about WTP and can only imagine they've gotten better as a company. The only thing with the Verde that could maybe make it better, for you, than the beyond is the different TT lengths. Not sure your height, but that could be a factor. Personally I'd go for the WTP
04-02-09, 11:59 PM
04-03-09, 10:26 AM
you could really go with either for your height...the verde has a 20.5 version, and the WTP is 20.6
04-03-09, 11:57 AM
ya im just not sure which is better and will last longer..
04-03-09, 02:41 PM
Well, WTP is a more proven company. The Verde might be just as good, but you can't be sure because they haven't been around for as long. In the US anyhow.
04-03-09, 02:58 PM
The WTP is more solid i'd say. They both have a pretty similar spec list, but i know someone with the verde and the cranks are kind of poorly made, no real way to get them off or use a crank tool on them, making them a ***** to work on. Both Bikes use the same rims. Generic double walls, they are fine as long as you keep them trued.
04-03-09, 04:34 PM
Ok so the wtp im saying. Now i like the kink transition. How is that compared to the beyond. Sorry about all the questions just want the right bike
04-03-09, 04:43 PM
Kink is nice too. Only real difference is the pivotal seat and smaller gearing. Id personally rather run a little bigger of a gear ratio, things last longer. and the WTP has a better brake, and probably better crank arms. It's really all up to you though, either bike is solid.
04-07-09, 10:13 PM
well went to buy the wtp beyond yesterday and guess what.... they dont have it anymore.. it kinda stinks
04-08-09, 03:29 PM
04-08-09, 04:23 PM
ya so idk its between the verde and kink
04-08-09, 04:26 PM
either or is solid. go for the better deal.
04-08-09, 10:07 PM
idk which is better... i mean you said the verde has bad crank set and the kink transition is pretty good so im not sure and also what is so bad about this bike http://www.danscomp.com/101846.php?cat=BIKES
04-08-09, 11:58 PM
Doesn't have a full chromoly frame. The verde has better brakes than the kink, and a little bigger gear ratio which will probably be better in the long run, but the cranks might be alot better on the kink, i am not sure. its up to you.
04-09-09, 04:49 PM
well i have a macneil young 2 frame thats really new. would that do the job
04-09-09, 05:05 PM
Thats a solid frame, why dont you buy parts and build it up.
04-09-09, 06:11 PM
just want a new bike. im only payin dor 2/3 of the bike parts are doing the rest
04-10-09, 01:11 PM
haha lucky...i have to pay for everything myself. everything.
04-10-09, 11:26 PM
Not going to lie, that sucks.
04-11-09, 02:31 AM
04-11-09, 02:56 AM
any one know where i can get the black eye park pro at?? i cant find it and if you do please give me a site thanks
04-11-09, 01:20 PM
