Fifty Plus (50+) - Woo Hoo, I'm Great!

My grandson and his girl friend had a baby boy last night. That makes me a great grandfather. Naturally I want the little tyke to think that I'm great in more ways than just the title. I'm already thinking about what to get the little fellow for his first bicycle.

So what would be the coolest first bike a boy could have and when should I get it for him?

Congrads Hope moms doing ok. As soon as he asks for one. I have no grandkids but I remember my yongest guy I put training wheels on his bike and when I told him it was time to take them off he wouldnt riding it fear of falling so I left them on I think he eventully grew out of the bike. Always want to figher things out on his own. I miss those days. Be nice to have a grand something.

It is a "Like-a-Bike" knock-off. I got it for $50. Hopefully it will avoid the training wheel question.

Is great- grandparenting as wonderful as grandparenting?

It's a little soon to tell since the baby is only about 12 hrs. old, but I think it's going to be even better than grandparenting. I'm thinking that I'll get all of the fun while having no responsibilities save writing the occassional check.

May I suggest a Rocky Mountain Solo 50ST for his 15th birthday? I can assure you it's probably as spiffing as anything else, and you'll have sorted any possible teething troubles out in the 15 years you'll have dedicated to making sure it's faultless. And if you have any pleasure from it during this time, well, you deserve it.

I don't know how retro one can be who's not even 24 hours old. The grouchy part, however, speaks for itself. I'm thinking that mom and dad are going to find the little fellow to be pretty demanding.
