Folding Bikes - homebuilt or conversion folder/suitcase bike???

I searched thru the forums and could not find any hits. Does anyone here have any links or pics of homebuilt folding bikes ala Bike Friday/Downtube/Brompton? Specifically interested in 20" wheel size and something I could fit in an airline legal suitcase.

Any help appreciated!

Cheg's page on getting his old Raleigh Twenty up to Bike Friday specs and intricate instructions on making it Samsonite compatible is well worth a read - this bike isn't homebuilt in perhaps the sense you mean but it's a far cry from the stock shopping bike and might offer some ideas ...

Another thing you might look into is the S&S coupling system that lets you attack your bike of choice with an angle-grinder, then braze on some fastening cups that alow you to reassemble/dissassemble to your hearts content for packing and travel.

Wow- thanks for the links. Those mini-velos are way cool, and I respect the ingenuity of the guy homebuilding those break-down bikes. Very much what I am looking for, for inspiration. That camping bike is pretty slick. I especially like how the fork is removable from the steerer via clamp.

Any more links you guys know of?

Thanks for the link. The problem is when you dive one step lower, for instance the camping bike link. All the text has been preserved but the pics are broken links.

Anyone have this info backed up?
