Is Bio degreaser worth the money for chain and cog cleaning?

Pedro's smells better!

Is it worth it? I dunno, Simple Green is cheap and effective. I get Pedro's inexpensively, so I use it. So, it's a toss up! (for me anyways)

Also, Pedro's is environmentally conscious. (if that means anything to you.)

Cool company.

According to the label, Simple Green is biodegradable, too. It's cheap and does a fantastic job of cleaning my chain. I don't think I'll ever use anything else.

Well unless every cyclist used unfriendly products to clean their chains at the same time every week I would say it would take wuite awhile to damage the environment in some noticable way. However those who are constantly washing thier cars in the park, by say natural springs, as in the case in Richmond Va about 10 years ago made the water unsafe to drink. However it took alot of cars and about 4 Summers to do this.
But if you want to make a oise about environmantal destruction why not go after DuPont. They have been destroying the environment around Richmond every since I can remember. The water table aorund that plant is atrociously absurd. However if people would stop using DuPont materials they may notice something. Athough that seems quite unlikely due to the worldliness of alot of people.

Hey Hunter, I'm not taking a stance here, just reporting that these days the water tastes good and, as far as I know, DuPont isn't on the hot seat and I haven't seen anyone washing their car in the park lately...

Slow down there Hoss Let's not get our Right wings in a bunch here. I meant that from my own viewpoint anything I can do to keep some nasty $h!+ out of the environment I'm going to do ie support "greener" companies like Chris King (one of the best) and Pedro's

I picked up a gallon of Simple Green to clean the bike with and I now use it all over the house. Not only is it quite cheap, but it works great as a household cleaner. Works great on the bike...

I use Simple Green for all sorts of stuff, and I have like 2 gallons of the crap sitting around. I use it to clean everything, my Jeep, my bikes... various parts.. it's great stuff. If you've got a chain with a Power Link and can take it off the bike, there are even better alternatives than Simple Green.. like vehicle carb cleaners or even mineral spirits and whatnot. There are some things that will strip the skin off your hands and make Simple Green look like water!
