This bike appears mint. I am going to look at it later this week. I know that fair market value of vintage treks that are in mint condition can be high, but this one looks pretty nice. I would be trading my Masi Fixed Speciale for it (the whole fixed gear thing is alright, but I am looking for a nice older bike).

Are you buying it to ride, or as a collectable? Nice Trek rigid mountain bikes from the early 90s make great riders, and can be had for around $100 to $150 max. You are paying a huge premium to get a bike that is more collectable.

I love American built Treks. I have a '95 750 hybrid that I paid about $450 for new. I don't really think that is worth the price. Maybe, not probly not even if it were a 530. Keep looking and be patient, I've picked up a few bikes this winter that I could have waited on, to see what came up this spring.

I think that is a killer bike, and it is exactly the type of bike I've been looking for to match my wife's Raleigh Horizon. But the price is just not in line with the market.

$200 and I'd think about it. $250 and I'd move on, even though I really like that style.

The problem with that bike is if you buy it and ride it and put a handful of scratches on it, the value falls to $100. It's not a good deal, not even close. The only way it makes any sense is if you have a restaurant with 1980's motif and you want to hang a bike from the ceiling. Otherwise, no.
