Classic & Vintage - Took my Austro-Daimler out for a ride

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Yesterday for the first ride of the year. I had forgotten what a great ride that bike is. And it isn't even one of the really good ones. It's funny because they put a PUCH headbadge on it and then put Austro-Daimler on the downtube. All the bikes I've seen have one or the other but not both. I guess it's not good enough to be strictly an A-D but better than a Puch? Anyway, it rode great. 15 miles of pure heaven.

I just finished cleaning up a D-B that my sister picked up in a yard sale. Once I cleaned through the years of gunk, there was a sweet machine underneath with minimal wear. The handlebar bag had the original 1980 sales receipt for $800 in it.

I'll see if I can get a pic this weekend.
It's not much of a picture, but here it is. Rode 15 miles on it again yesterday. Part of the ride was a 2 mile uphill continuous climb. I had to use low gear the for almost the whole 2 miles.
Austrian bikes are great. :)
Capo -- the "other' Austrian bike manufacturer.
Thanks guys. Drove up to Dayton to register my soccer team for a tournament and took it for another 20 miles tonight. There was a bike path near the registration hotel so it worked out good. I'm liking this bike more and more!

puchs were labeled austro-diamler in the U.S., elesewhere everyone called 'em puch. My uncle owned a puch/austro-diamler racing bike. he bought it in 1984. it was the one with the finish that couldn't be scratched, sort of anodized, I guess, in black....the vent noir. Has anybody here seen one and/or know what they're worth?
Took her out for a 25 mile ride in Columbus this weekend. They have some nice bike paths up there. I did have to coast through some high water. I came up to my bottom bracket. Had a great ride!
I saw one of those both Friday and Saturday night locked up in front of the Comet. That wasn't you wast it, Kerk?
Not me. I was in Columbus this weekend and the bike was never left alone outside.
