Two-day festival. Sounds like a lot of fun. I'm taking my family on Friday after work.:thumb:

I guess it's either the Long Beach show or the one in San Diego (http://www.sandiegocustombicycleshow.com/)

I have never been to either one.

SGRT will be closed from Westminster (south end of the Haynes Steam Plant) to the marina bridge on Saturday from 7AM to 4PM for the Seal Beach 5k and 10k events.

Hi,

Just got back from the first day of festivities. It was fixie city as they closed one block of a city street -- can't remember which one -- in front of LBFG (Long Beach Fixed Gear). Pretty small crowd but I got to talk to one of the city's bicycle coordinators about what LB is doing to become the most bike friendly city in the world.

I'll be racing tomorrow. Hope it doesn't end up like the mods and the rockers. ;)

That race course was cool, but a bit sketchy. If they repaved that street it would be a great race.

Hi,

I didn't have much fun in the Cat. 3 race. Went off the back after 5 miles. The course was bumpy like most downtown courses that I've done in the past. The thing is you get used to smooth industrial park crits.

Anyway, glad I did it. Watching the Pro/1/2 race was kind of scary and the corners didn't look as bad as they felt while I was out there.

Talked to mkadam68 and saw zzzwillzzz.

You're being kind only referring to it as "bumpy". Then again, you don't the same mass I do charging into those bumps.

Did you stick around for the P/1-2 finish? How'd it play out?

Yeah, I stayed until the end. There was a break with about 8 guys and the OUCH rider won the sprint. Tony Cruz came flying out of the pack with 2 to go and a Jelly Belly guy latched on to him. Coming out of turn 6 they were still together and ahead of the field. I assume the Jelly Belly guy beat Tony.

I'll have some photos to post later this week. Got to get to my taxes today. :(
