After 2 weeks of riding (500-600km) I notice my chain was drooping, thought the lock nuts had slipped, anyway I retensioned the chain, measure the chain and it has already stretched more than 1/16 inch. Chain is a cheap Izumi track 1/8 chain. My chainring is a 3/32 (39T) and the cog is 1/8 (15T). Is this normal wear for a track chain? My road bike Dura Ace chain wears in around 5000kms. Riding fixed wheel seem fairly high wear so far, even the back tyre seems to wear more quickly than a road bike and I haven't learn to skid yet. Its a bit hilly here so most of the time I am overgeared up hill and undergear downhill.

Did you measure the chain when you first bought it?
How did you measure the chain?
Yes that seems like a lot of wear.
I have a park chain wear gauge. Sometimes new chains can show up as having wear. If you used a ruler, measuring a 1/16" can be tricky. I could never measure the "stretch" with a ruler.
