Northern California - Saturday 4/4

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Saturday morning I'm planning to ride the 5 hills ride again, and maybe add in some extra miles. Figure 75-80 miles from my house, around 4000 feet. Weather looks really nice. Low 70's and sunny.
Anyone interested? Probably leaving about 9am.

Joel, rode Costco, Beatty, Alexander, and the Cothrin Ranch loop yesterday. Great ride. The wildflowers are out on Corthrin and French Creek. 65 mi. from my house. Almost 5k of climbing. Just a consideration. Track meet tomorrow, so I am out.

That's a good idea for a ride too. Thanks for the suggestion. I've been wanting to do that.

I really enjoy the Pardee ride but I couldn't do it this year. It should be extra fun on the fixed gear.

I'll be out there, but due to lack of miles probably will be doing the short route or will be creating my own route. We'll see how it goes.
In case you're on the fence, here's the route: http://www.mapmyride.com/route/us/ca/folsom/738123879745649445
Note that the grades and total ascent shown in the "elevation" button are incorrect. They underestimate by a bunch. Too much data smoothing I expect.
Ya'll missed a fun ride! 4600 feet of climbing, 80 miles, 14.9 avg speed.
It was a beautiful day to be out.

Hey Joel, if you're available next Saturday, I'm available and would be interested in some of those hills you do around EDH. I don't have the legs to do near 80 miles right now (great job btw), and would start riding on the bike trail toward your area, which is about an extra 8mi one way for me. Something that ends up at < 60mi for me would be cool.
What do you think?

Nico, I'm Sunday next week. Wife wants to ride Saturday (she's the one earning the money, and wants Sunday to recover before work on Saturday). Got one of these big rides planned. 75 miles, 5500 feet (I think). However, if you can go Sunday, there's a bailout after the first 2 hills. That'll get you 42.5 miles round trip from Hagan Park (where I hit the ARBT). The 2 hills are Iron Point and Beatty.

Thanks Joel, usually Sundays are a lot more difficult for me, so I'll most likely have my long ride on Saturday. If you have any links for routes of the hills that are easily accessible from the trail, please send them over.
Thanks again,
