Am I reading this article right?

Is this April Fool's Day joke?
I wear sunglasses from protection from the sun, wind, and obviously to look sweet. I don't understand this rule at all. I would think it's so damaging to the eyes when the pros are exposed to the sunlight and the wind for 4-9 hours per day.
Also, as mentioned in the article, this rule is going to kill some of the sunglasses companies.

Obviously a joke. Paragraphs like this one kind of give it away:
Cycling photojournalists universally rejoiced at the announcement. “I don’t think I’ll ever forgive Greg LeMond for bringing these abominations into the peloton,” says famed cycling photographer Graham Watson. “All the drama and emotion in a photo is lost if you can’t see the rider’s eyes.”

I read that article yesterday, and though, man with a whole team of editorial staff, thats the best April Fools joke they can up with. What a lame piece of crap, what kind of a muppet is going to get sucked in by that.
Apparently I was wrong.

Actually, Graham really has said that kind of thing.
The article is still an April fool's joke, though...
