It's not a Tandem only ride. Singles are along and mingled in too. Personally I would never take my wife on this ride and I'm an OCW member. TOO MANY SQUIRRELS.

Really? We've only ridden with them a couple of times, but we have always been at the back of a pack of 40 tandems.

Then you were lucky. I've suggested meeting at some other place than the regular Saturday ride and have a no single rule but no one listens.
If your are near the front group you will have singles swarming around you at lights constantly.
Most I wouldn't trust behind me.
I've never seen a PACK of 40 tandems there anytime recently.
