Bicycle Mechanics - Park BBT-7 interchangeable with Shimano TL-FC30?

I've got a Shimano 600EX BB-6207 with six-notch lockring. The installation instructions call for Shimano tool TL-FC30. Looks to me like the Park BBT-7 might work just as well. Yes or no?

Any lockring tool will work. Hell even a punch and hammer will work.

actually I'm finding that Park HCW-5 is difficult to work with in this situation. This is why I posed the question re: BBT-7. HCW-5 doesn't fit the ring properly and there are gaps where the wrench teeth contact the lockring notches. Looking at Park Tool specs for BBT-7 vs HCW-5, looks like max outside/inside diameter is a bit "larger" for BBT-7, which would seem to be a bad thing in my case?
I don't have the specs on the recommended Shimano TL-FC30.
As for the punch and hammer suggestion, I need to keep the adjustable cup in position with a spanner wrench as I tighten the lockring. I don't think I could do that while wielding a punch and hammer.
I'm going to measure my lockring.
