Dear designers,

Please make a bike short that is full length in the inseam for support, but which does not ride halfway up my back and sit on my diaphragm with elastic in the front. I have been folding my shorts over, but I am getting pretty sick of it. The back of my shorts doesn't need to be within two inches of my sports bra. My butt is pretty far away at that point.

I understand that the shorts are a *bit* higher in the back to ensure that there are no plumber's crack incidents, but how big do you really think the ass of someone who wears a size xs is going to be? What is your fit model, a size L?

Oh, and Pearl Izumi, I did buy the Sugar shorts, as they were all over the internet as lower rise shorts. And, in size xs, the legs are so loose the (already quite short) cuffs ride up, badly! So much for an attempt at a decent fit. It doesn't matter though, since they're barely a lower rise than my classic Sugoi shorts. Fail.

Seriously, though... please make some shorts with lower rise. And I've seen some with a wider waistband... I mean, they're supposed to be tight to begin with, so let's say goodbye forever to the hard elastic that cuffs the midsection.

Sincerely,
A short cyclist.

oh, man that don't sound fun

Short of a chopping a unitard or those volleyball outfits (no I ain't Gabby Reese either) don't you have a friend who can help you make them?

Sadly, if you are exceptionally small or large, the odds are against you.

Clausti, what kind of bike (and size) do you ride?

Aren't issues like this the reason that people prefer bibs? Hope you find something that works.
