Commuting - Ooofff, it was thick last night!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I forget one of the reasons I love commuting in the winter is there is virutally no humidity. Walked out of work last night at 12:30am into a pea soup, 93% humidity. I hate trying to drink my breath, I might as well swam home, as ride. But, the shower when I got home felt awful nice.
Are you kidding me? Humidity is where the fun starts

It's like that here today as well (though I'm not that far away from you).
Stopped to talk to a friend on the way to work (after about 10 miles of riding) and my glasses fogged up.
When it gets this humid, I'm drenched after a mile or two and wishing for rain just to cool me off.
Give me 4 degrees and crisp anyday.

Yeah, there's been this cloud-dome over the city (reminds me of a "Detroit sky"), threatening to rain for days, but only visiting gawd-awful humidity on us instead. It's even muggy in my office. Weird thing is, it's even humid when it's cool at night (50's F), which really sux, 'cuz you have to dress warm enough to keep the chill off, which just drenches you from the inside.
Coupla years ago it rained EVERY DAY of Bike to Work Week. I think I'd prefer that to this.

That's why I moved back to Oregon, very little humidity. And when there is high humidity, well, it's 'cause it's really raining. I remember my first time in 90% humidity and it wasn't raining. Really weird.
Humidity? I have not had a problem with that since I moved back to Montana from Minnesota. I don't miss it at all! Humdity here runs in the teens to mid 20%s most of the time. "Its dry heat, sir."

After numerous Virginia Summers, I think I'm immune. But I do like tossing the boat atop the car on a real scorching day and heading down to the James to paddle thru downtown.
In fact, I think that might be the only reason I still own a car.

Sounds similar to here. Over Summer it is usually under 10% humidity. DRY!!
CHEERS.

Here in Queensland 90% humidity in summer is considered "normal". At least, that's the case on the coast. When one gets on the other side of the range, the humidity drops dramatically. I remember riding in 37C temps a few years ago with arm warmers, such is the difference a loss of humidity makes. Around here, if it hits 22C with high humidity, be prepared to sweat like buggery.

Hmmmmm... I don't have a problem with heat or humidity... maybe I'm living in the wrong part of the country. I'm still waiting for it to warm up here, I'm getting restless.
