There are a number of shops in Santa Monica and I was wondering if anyone has positive or negative feedback on any of them

Helen's is your best bet - service is decent if you get the right person

I've had very good service from Veloworx on Lincoln Blvd.

Absolutely! Very old school bike shop- lots of high end stuff, with personal, knowledgeable service.

They're pretty much all good, depending on the day, who you deal with, and what about.

Cynergy can be great, and carry nice stuff as well.

I like Helen's and if you're downtown there's always Performance (formerly Supergo and before that Bikeology). The best SM shop (Brentwood) was Ernies pro bikes but sadly, they closed.

A third for Helens.

Visit them all, and see how they treat you and which appeals to you. Develop a personal relationship with the shop you prefer. That's really the key.

Helen's, as others have said, is dependably professional and they have multiple locations--but other shops could be a better personal fit for you.

What/how do you like to ride?

Cynergy is the place to go. Under new ownership and really kicking it into gear (pardon the pun).
