Hi all,

I've just installed a new cateye strada wireless and I think I've tightened everything down as far is will go. However, just about every time I head out, I need to adjust either the magnet or the sensor to either get them close enough together to "sense" or farther apart to keep from hitting each other or the sensor getting caught in the spokes. It just won't stay put.

Anyone else have this problem with this computer? Any ideas on either what I'm doing wrong or ways to workaround it?

I'm afraid I'll forget the check the sensor one day and end up ripping it off with the wheel.

If you tighten it, it shouldn't move.

You can add some krazyglue to threads to prevent loosening, also glue assembly to the spoke. You may have to use pliers to disassemble later, but it should not move once you add the glue.

I've done this for years - with my old wireless models. My new Strada doesn't seem to need glue.

The glue can removed from the spoke and sensor with a little work, it doesn't weld metal like it does some plastics.

I had a similar issue keeping my magnet aligned because of my bladed spokes. The best advice I got - and has worked to date - was to get a small magnet to butt up with the Strada's and throw a piece of electrical tape over them to keep them joined together. The resultant magnet strength is enough to keep the computer working no matter where the magnet(s) are positioned.
