Actually I'm looking for a "tanning" suit and have no intention of running around a beach in a small suit. I got board shorts last year that the whole family was comfortable being seen with me in. I'm canvassing though because I want a better tan line than board shorts provide and I beach alone early in the season - long story short I fit into a brief style suit size 38 but would be more comfortable in a 40. Anyone know a national chain retailer than carries a brief style suit in that size?

This is a brief, is that what you mean? Speedo makes it in a 40. Many malls have Speedo stores.

Or are you looking for something like, from J Crew?

Yes, that's the style. I'll look for Speedo Store but I don't recall seeing one. My local Dick's Sporting Goods only goes up to size 38 for this style. Not sure what JCrew carries.

I have seen them at Dicks, might just be a stock issue. Probably come and go.

Macys carries Speedo but I'd be surprised if their selection is that deep.
