No, as I have no travel plans. Plus I am real, real rich.

My summer vacation plans involve a two week bike ride. No Gas needed!

Nope, because I thought summer gas prices would be unbelieveable, so I booked my plane tickets back in February. I was smart, because tickets are almost twice what I paid, and on top of that, they now have a fuel surcharge too.

No way Jose. I'm going on a bike tour! Self contained, no gas needed, save for the camp stove.
I'm currently working abroad and thought I would come right home to the oil-deprived USA and buy a car. Of course I want one. They are so convenient! I LOVE driving. The freedom! The speed! Plus, I really love seat heat. Seat Heat in the winter. It makes me marvel at the genius of humans. Brilliant!!!!
But, emmmm...nah.
As I've been planning this big bike tour (Seattle to Alaska) I've been spending a lot of time on these glorious bike sites and have really been inspired by those who commute. I live in dirty polluted Seoul (Imagine this: My students got mesmerized.....MESMERIZED, left their seats to point in awe!!!!..... today because they saw a white fluffy cloud. "Teacher! Teacher!" they said, "come look at this cloud. Isn't it beautiful!" "yes, young ho, it is beautiful!" I said.
It was a "just" a cloud, set in a hazy but almost blue sky.
That is the severity of the smog in Seoul.
Depressing.
Thus, I think I will move to Portland, bike friendly capital of the States, eat in Korean restaurants when the kimchi cravings hit, love the fresh air and scenery, enjoy getting rained out without worrying about going bald and avoid buying a polluting, depressing motor vehicle, no matter what. I will spend my savings traveling.
Thank you for asking......it allowed a homesick rant.
Breathe deeply and be appreciative!

NO: they will not affect my plans. I do almost all my travel in the summer by bicycle. Plus I can economize elsewhere to get the extra money needed for my tank.

Somewhat. I won't be driving to very many rides with my bike club now, but instead, explore more around my area.

BUT I do plan to attend an annual 3 day bike ride 4 hours drive away. I can't miss that.

I also plan a road trip with my wife and 2 friends, we will all share the cost of gas, so that will keep it down some (and i'm bringing my bike to stretch my legs every so often). :-)

Oh God! I fell asleep last night content that I was saving the planet from greenhouse gases and when I woke up, bicycles use petrol!
(This is the cycling forum, yes?)

No, my trip is already paid for on the lodging. So all we have is gas and the trip to the beach is not far. I has cut back on our in and around miles.
