This bike for sale at my LBS. I don't know anything about it other than that it is a 1988, and that they are selling the frame, fork, headset, and BB. I would appreciate to know more about this bike and what you think is an appropriate price. Please see photos:

Aw, shoot. I realize now that there is a subforum for these types of threads. Forgive my ignorance for (1) not realizing that before posting this, and (2) not figuring out how to move this post to that subforum.

i kinda doubt it.
Too bad that thing isnt a bit taller. How much are they asking for it if you don't mind me asking?

I'd bet a Celeste track frame like that on ebay would go for $400 at least.

P.S.: I did point out that unusual stack height to Thomas, though I was not certain enough to condemn the fork as an impostor or not.

I was thinking the same thing. Reparto Course Celeste Bianchi in todays fixie/SS market. $400.

Through a google search I found an ad for another 1988 Bianchi track frameset from a few months ago. I contacted the seller and he claims he sold it for "around $550."

For the bike pictured above, the LBS is asking for $900!

That sounds like the sort of price I'd expect from a shop in this market. Prices for vintage track frames, especially if they have a famous Italian name on them, are ridiculously inflated these days.
