This thread is NOT about taking and keeping your space in the lane while out riding.
It is NOT about acquiring and hoarding material goods.

In the area of bicycling, it's all about acquiring and maintaining our health, the ability to ride a bicycle and the fitness to keep doing it. Some people let up in the begining but are often able to continue on as before. I've managed to remain in this category by exercising and a keeping a positive mental attitude for the days when bicycling would resume in the spring, and have even fought against tough odds at one time or another. For one reason or another, however, others gradually let go of what their bicycling abilities and succumb to a point of which there is no return. Both categories are made up of people from all walks of life, from those who operate bicycle shops to disabled individuals who own and use specially-made bicycles.

So for those who don't have time time to ride, make time. For those who do have the time but just haven't started riding yet, do it (on a regular basis). For those who have given up bicycling, start again if you can. For those who have never stopped, keep going. We have ourselves to be thankful for if we keep up our cycling abilities and good health. We will only be sorry in the future if we don't.

Those are my thoughts. I welcome yours.

I used to be one of those Ultra-Fit yongsters that are about- but that was 35 to years ago. 18 years ago I took up cycling as I could no longer run and I wanted to rertain the fitness that I still had left.

It worked- but the wallet has suffered over the years.
