Hello everyone,

I am new for MBT and want to learn something about repair/maintenance. I bought a Cannondale F400 from a guy. When I remove the rear wheel, I found some wear mark on the cassette side of the frame where the wheel is locked. Please refer the attached picture for detail. As you can see even the derailleur hanger is weared off a little bit.

My question is if such damage has any impact on the performance or safety and how to fix it.

I tried to find a new derailler hanger on amazon, nut I am not sure about the modle. Do you think the on in the following link is the same?

Thanks for your help!

just looks like paint scraping to me, that happens, the quick release presses into the alloy, and the axle is threaded so it tends to scratch stuff up when its removed/ installed, unless that damage is way worse than it looks in the pic i wouldn't worry about it, if you are really worried you could take it to your lbs and just have them look at it, helps to see it in person, but i still think your totally fine

Normal with wear and tear.

Most all bikes get that over time. I wouldn't worry. Matter of fact, I've seen worse!

Thanks for your reply. I inserted some Tin foil. Hope that would help.
