The Hyperion treatment plant near Playa del Rey treats all the sewage from the LA basin. It's a huge facility covering many acres with streets connecting the various facilities. Of course, the entire place has the essence of -- sewage.
The plant also has a weekend household waste collection site. I just got back from there to dispose of a microwave that died.
When entering the plant you go by a guard shack, then a stop sign. Next to the stop sign there's another sign saying, "CAUTION, Bicycle Traffic In Plant".
Really? What a place to cycle. Who rides at Hyperion? Is it part of the operation? Maybe someone in the fourm can relate to us the joys of cycling at Hyperion.
