Riding when it's hot and humid makes the workout harder in a very nice way. My favorite hard days are always the ones when I'm sweating like mad and breathing like we're running out of air. Hot = win.

Fugazi, It's that hot here in Alabama. ;) I ride 10 miles every 3-4 days. Today was far hotter than any other day that I have ridden so far this year.:)

This ain't hot folks. This is just a teaser. We will be hitting 100 in a couple of months with enough humidity to keep fish alive out of water.

It's hot in Chicago... humid too. Yesterday was almost too much. I rarely turn on the air, but I had it pumping yesterday. Luckily, it rained pretty hard last night and this morning, so hopefully, that'll bring down the humidity some.

I'm not complaining. I'd rather be sweating in summer than freezing in winter.

I don't think our air-conditioner has been off since January!

oh summer is coming, i can feel it... it is suppost to hit 93 sunday here, luckly the humidity is only going to get to somewhere around 80%, still have about three weeks until the humidity will stay 90+ until Oct.
i hate to say it, but i think this will be a HOT summer (at less in the armpit of the South), i am feeling 100s this summer coming

So to highjack this thread, how hot is to hot for you to ride?

Me personally if the heat index gets above 105 I will not ride (at that time), and try to go in the morning or something

It has never been so hot I wouldn't ride. During the week I ride in the middle of the day all summer long.

YOu know, I really dont have a problem with heat when I'm on the bike. It's like there is an fan blowing air at me. I will ride in any heat, and it gets pretty hot and humid here in Maryland, we have had a few 105 degree days with 100 percent humidy.

Running in the heat, though, is tricky. there is no "fan effect" the only thing that works is shirtless running.

Here in AZ Im considering the weather 'nice and cool' because its not triple digits, we are still around 95 degrees but it seems managable, especially at 6:30am when I ride. In a month or two when the low is around 90 at 3am I'll let everyone know how long my water last on a ride!

I dunno how you deal my inlaws live in Chandler, and after going there once in August and nearly dying from the heat.. I had to instill blackout months from May thru the end of September... I couldn;t imagine riding there... but people do.

p.s. How do you like your new wheels so far ?

Yesterday I rode for 6 hours and it was 92 with 83% humidity. I finally acclimated. Summer's coming. I'll ride road anytime, but from June-September, the mountain bike takes a vacation. We'll have a whole month or two or over 100 days with 99% humidity. I don't usually use air and just tough it out.

We were in triple digits last week here in Arizona but the end of this week has dropped into the upper nineties. Luckily the humidity is still low and the riding is really nice. Rode up into the hills at sunset last night at the end of my commute and watched the sunset across the valley, descended the hill under the stars. Doesn't get any better than that.

As to how I deal with the heat, once the temps top 100 I soak my jersey in a water fountain at every park I pass and have a nice cool jersey when I am riding.

Not that hot here yet, but we did have one day last week when it was in the 80s and MUGGY.

ANd now we're heading into a holiday weekend and the forecast is rain, all three days. Oh well, I guess I'll just sleep.

Low 90s here today, and humid. We rode 50 miles and it was great! After riding all winter, with the tights, long jearseys and head covers, I love the summer rides. Yea it's hot, but I always have a breez blowing, light cloths, and I'm not bulked up. I rode to work two days ago and had to wear leg warmers in the morning. I'm so glad their put up now! :)

sipperphoto, the wheels are amazing. Best bike related purchase I have made yet. Another nice morning to ride here in AZ, probably in the high 70's when I started, 80's by the end of the ride. I leave for northern VA in a week so I'll have to acclimate to the humidity. Shouldn't be too bad.

I'm dealing with the heat better now. Two weeks ago, I did a century here with temps in mid 80s, humidity about 50% and felt very drained afterward. Today I did the same century route same weather conditions and I feel fine. Like everyone else says you just have to acclimate.
