mazdatech10 - No we do not use the same hubs as Am Classic. and you can use a sram cassette on our shimano 9/10 hub. testrider test wheels for months before they review(I think he even raced our carbon set twice). at that time we did not have our new hubs in.

tmiller9909 - I would like to have an Al tubular, Especially as a track wheelset. But Right now we have to plans. Ill run it by the big boys here and let them know there may be some interest.

martyh-Sorry we cant do international with the group buy. email-brent@flitwheels.com and he can set you up for an international order.

theone29-I was told our new campy hubs are 11 speed compatible. I have yet to see it with my own eyes, So i cant confirm this (yet)

Received my wheels today, but can't give them a test ride yet.

Threw them on the scale after getting some Conti GP4000's and the cassette on, and they're 568g lighter(976g front and 1478g rear without skewers) than the Fulcrum Racing 5's (1264 +1750g) that they're replacing .

Hopefully I'll get a ride in tomorrow and give first impressions.

theone29
04-14-09, 09:42 PM
how do they look? Can you give the actual weight of the wheels only? thanks.

dehoff
04-15-09, 08:45 AM
They look great. Someone else will need to get the weight of the wheels only. I completely forgot to weigh them until after I had the tires and cassette on. They did drop 1.25 pounds off the Fulcrums that they're replacing, so that's good news for me. The skewers that are included are 108g for the pair.

I'll try to get some pics up in the next day or two, and hopefully will get a ride in tonight after wrapping the bars.

I'll throw on tire and take a short test ride this evening. Sorry I don't have a scale so no weights.

wow, you got yours quick. i guessing from the time you guys paid for your wheels, it takes about what a week to a week and a half? i am so freaking excited, can't wait to get mine. we need some ride reports and pictures.

tmiller9909
04-18-09, 06:35 PM
I paid on the 13th. Shipped on the 16th. Delivered by FexEx on the 18th. (I live Wisconsin. Flit is in Michigan)

Rode the wheels really briefly tonight. Can't give any quantitative results as I didn't have a speed sensor magnet on, and I have a cassette with different gear range than I've been using this year. I was also a bit tired from racing today... but.. The wheels felt good... Rode ok. Felt as light as should be expected when climbing. I didn't feel any deflection or issues with them.

Appearance is good. The wheels arrived nice and true and the spoke tension feels even. The skewers that came with them feel pretty light, but they also feel kind of flimsy. Which is as good as you could expect for the price. I might put in a pair of Salsa Ti skewers, which I've been using for the last year or so.

I need to get in some long rides. But on first impression, I'm happy with them

theone29
04-18-09, 07:54 PM
is the freewheel hub pretty quiet? i am glad that you are happy with it.

tmiller9909
04-18-09, 10:04 PM
Nope.... It's not REALLY loud. But definitely not quiet. I like the sound, it's a nice crisp buzz

tmiller9909

Rode them for about 40 miles today.

They worked well. Didn't notice any flexing or issues. I did think that compared to the other wheels I had on the bike (Speedcific Rims, built by Mike Garcia), that these felt more rigid and a little less comfortable over bumps. I guess that means the rims are probably stiffer, which for me is a good thing as I will be using them on my criterium bike.

Again. I used the skewers some more and I will probably toss them in my parts box and never use them. I've got others sitting around that seem to be more secure. I am a little particular about skewers because I once pulled the rear wheel out of the dropout while riding. Another thing that I don't like are the logos on the front hubs. The hubs are black and the logos white. They stand out a lot and they are a distraction when I am out of the saddle and look down. I'm going to take them off. The logos on the rims and rear hub don't bother me.

I'm happy with the wheels and glad I bought them. I'll probably use them for training and racing for a season or so until I get some deep section carbon wheels. After that probably just training.

One of the wheels (Front) took quite a bit of effort to get the tire on (Conti GP 4000 S), and the other (Rear) went on pretty easy.

So I got my Leticas the other day. I had time to get them on the bike yesterday and to take them for a spin today.

My initial impressions are very positive. The wheels shipped in two boxes and were well packed in the Sunday paper - my wife thanks you for the crossword. They came true and were evenly tensioned. So of course the next thing I did was tossing them on the scale. The pair came in at 1310g - this is the first time I've bought wheels from a non-big brand that came in at (or even within 50g) of their claimed weight so big thumbs up on that.

I mounted a set of Conti 4000s - my go to tires - on and took them for a short ride today. The wheels were reasonably stiff and accelerated very well up hill. My one beef so far is that I feel like they make the ride a little harsher than some of my other wheelsets. However, all things considered I'm very pleased with the wheels and they'd be a great buy at what Flit normally sells them.

I'll post an update with pictures when I get a chance.

My Leticas arrived earler this week, but I'm out of town for work and have not seen them yet. I purchased these for my son's birthday which is later this month. He's only 100lbs and likes to climb so I hope they will work out good for him.

My Cone-A set came this week while I was away on business. Just unpacked them and they look very nice! Did a quick weight check and they came in at: rear 830 grams, front 610 grams. A little over claimed weight but still pretty good. They will be going on a new Roubaix Expert build, so I won't get to test ride for a couple weeks. I'll post reviews when I get them on the road.
