Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

The City of Austin recently purchased 15 bicycles for employees to use to commute between buildings for meetings, or at lunch. More information here:

Which begs the question - did they buy 15 good locks to go with them? And will the renters bother to lock them properly, if at all?

From what I've read they bought u-locks (not sure what brand) and helmets to go with each bike when it's checked out.
I really hope the city employees take advantage of this opportunity. It's being used as a pilot for a city-wide bike sharing program.

No doubt, one-size-fits-all helmets

Probably. But hey, there's no helmet law in Texas, so they could probably just leave it behind at the office if they wanted to.
