Hello Everyone:

I used the search term "Bionx battery cover" in the archive for this forum ... with no success. So I thought that I would ask about it.

I recently took delivery on a Bionx-equipped bicycle and was interested to note that the port where the charger plugs in does not appear to be protected at all. Open to water, dirt, whatever.

NYCEWHEELS.COM sells something that is described as Bionx battery cover. But the photograph is not terribly convincing. It actually looks like it could be something else.

Anybody with any experience in this area?

And, since the battery housing could be considered a cover, would this be a cover of a cover?

Or would this be a Bionx "cosy"? (My wife is a knitter. That could be a possibility).

I've been commuting on a daily basis with a Bionx PL350 equipped bike here in Raincity, Canada (Vancouver, BC) and haven't had any problems regarding dirt, grime or water entering the battery pack via the charging port.

You're not talking about this: http://nycewheels.com/bionx-parts-velcro-wirecover.html
Are you?
That's just a cover for the bike mounted portion of the connector that the BionX battery slots into. Its to protect the connector when the battery is not in place on the bicycle.

I always wondered what that thing was for!
