Blogger's Forum - Looking for critique of our site.

Tempe Bicycle Action Group is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization working to make bicycling a prominent, safe and convenient form of transportation and recreation in Tempe, Arizona and surrounding areas through education, grassroots events, and civic participation.

Our site consists of a blog with additional pages, built in Wordpress. Looking for comments, suggestions, critiques, whatever. We just want to make the site more useful for local cyclists and increase traffic. We've been live since mid 2007. We're pushing just under 100 uniques a day. Traffic has increased 100% since December of 2008 due to various efforts. Search engine traffic has gone from 18% of visits to almost 50%, most of which is on the term "biketempe".

You can try googling for "SEO" (Search Engine Optimization) if you're trying to drive more traffic to your site.

Overall, your site looks good. There's a good amount of general information coupled with local happenings.

A minor nitpick: a header link back to the front page would be nice. I know clicking on the banner takes you there, but an "official" link is always good, especially for people who don't know to click on the banner.

I think our major issue is connecting with the community, we're fairly easy to find if one knows about us, but it's getting folks aware (and involved) that is the challenge. I just want to make sure our site isn't driving folks away when they do find us.

Thanks for the "home" link suggestion. I need to re-work the header. We had "home" in there but it came out to make room for Forums.
