Southwest - Bicycle education in the Phoenix Metro area

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

As a new League of American Bicyclists League Certified Instructor I'm trying various avenues to determine what the public is looking for in bicycle education.
What classes have you taken and how were they? CAzBike is pretty much the only organization that teaches here in Phoenix from what I have seen. I've taken a class with them and it was pretty good. Radar Matt, one of their regular teachers, is very knowledgeable.
What classes would you take if they were available? What knowledge/skills are you seeking? What days / times would you prefer (weekday nights, weekend days, etc)?
Any input you can give would be helpful.
Thanks

I've taken the CAzB Road 1 class. I learned a lot. But it took up an entire weekend (Sat. and Sun. 8-5), and most people don't have that kind of time. Facility size limited the class to about 10. To make it more convenient, it probably needs to be spread out over shorter sessions on non-consecutive days.
The officers of the bike club I belong to know that safety is important, but we continue to have accidents and near misses on our rides. I've encouraged them to have mandatory safety training, but I don't think they want to force the issue. Still, I believe that a class would be well attended, mandatory or not. PM me if you want to discuss more.

Thanks for the input. I took Road 1 for Experts as a pre-requisite for LCI certification and it was about 5 hours long. I agree that an entire weekend for a class is too long. From what I understand LAB has no issue with compressing or modifying courses or teaching parts of courses, as long as the "Need to Know" topics are covered.
Are you talking about incidents while group riding, individually or both? Group riding adds another level to required skills and there is LAB specific material for group riding.
Again, thanks for the input. With Bike Month and other spring activities things are quite busy right now, so I'll PM you when it quiets down and we can discuss classes.
