Mountain Biking - rodeo pedals

I'm kinda new to mtb riding. I bought rodeo pedals, from nashbar, because of the clip on one side and platform on the other. I didn't realize that these were road pedals at the time. Is this going to matter? What's the difference?

Please let me know, before I hurt myself somewhere. Note that I don't ride very hard, but I like the woods and off road, and will ride the road occasionally.

Those look like they are for MTB. Theyare based off of shimano's SPD pedals which are designed for MTB.

I thought I saw somewhere that they were mtn pedals, but then afterwards, they were on the road pedal page with all the other road pedals, and there was a different pedal (with spd on one side and platform on the other) on the mtn pedal page.

I didn't think I needed to worry, but wanted to check with others because I would rather ride my bike home, and not have to "belly crawl" back home with a limb dangling or something.

ATB = All Terrain Bike, right?

If that's the case, I probably shouldn't worry. Nothing worse than jumping logs and stuff. No big drops or anything.
