So any ride reports?
A little more wind than advertised, I can tell you that (from being on another hilly ride).

i'll bite.
i only managed 80 miles, though i was aiming for 100. at mile 60, there was an option to do a 15 mile loop that would make 100 miles, or just turn and head back to the start for an 85 mile total. i really shouldn't have done the 15 mile loop. by the time i finished it, it was about 2:30pm, and the thought of doing another 25 hilly miles and then driving 3 hours home was really messing with my head. i did the unthinkable and rode in a sag wagon back to the start.
as usual, i started out way too fast and aggressive and was running on empty most of the miles >50. some pretty ball-busting climbs in the route.
cylowe, if you read this, there are quite a few roads in the area with some nasty potholes and gravel all over the place. those downhills were kinda squirrely at times.
stewart put on a great ride though. it's very well marked, both with directional signs and spray paint on the road. the organizers did a good job marking the potholes and gravel.

Ride report:
Beautiful day for a ride. Started out cold (40s) and warmed up to 60s, cloudless, with a sometimes stiff west wind. jbmadtown and I rode more or less together, when I could keep up with him.
The rest stops featured lots of home baked goodies from the Dodgeville 4H Club.
The biggest climbs on the 55 mile route were Hunter Hollow Road and especially Berg Road. Some spectacular long, winding descents but like nietsmas said, a lot of gravel in places, and occasional potholes too.
I can already tell tomorrow I'm gonna have sore legs and a sunburned neck.
EDIT: In addition to my neck, I have sunburn on my arms, legs, and nose. The legs are actually OK.

Somehow Schilling (the organizer) manages to find the most remote-feeling of the area's back roads for this ride. What a classic day of cycling on a very scenic route. Don't assume there aren't hills on this ride because it isn't billed as a "challenge ride". It is a challenging route and after 55 miles I was glad to pull into the parking lot at the end. Thanks for riding with me, Sekaijin!
Well organized ride with perfect weather....except for the wind that kept growing and growing....
After my other half totally bonked out on Upper Wyoming, we headed down CTY-Y and CTY-Z for the direct route back to the high school. 68 miles total. For that terrain, not too shabby. I would have liked a few more miles, but sometimes I think that when the other half bonks, that he's just the canary in the coal mine and maybe I'm just destined to follow 5 miles down the road.
This is our 3rd Quadrupedal and it still remains one of my favorite rides. Yeah, the roads get a little rough, but the same winter and run off that cuts those beautiful hollows does a number on the roads. I really appreciated that it looked like some of the roads closer to Dodgeville had been recently street sweeped. Those attentions to detail and marking with great big road warnings on pot holes keeps me coming back (oh, and the animal crackers--amazing road fuel  )
