Advocacy & Safety - Gave up century to help at a safety celebration.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I was supposed to have ridden a century today. But earlier this week I found out about a Children's Safety Celebration taking place on the river front at the Anderson Dance Pavilion. I called the contact person for it & told him I am the RIDE RIGHT rep. for this area & asked if I could help. He said sure come on down we'll have a place for you to set up at. So from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm I was there handing out the RIDE RIGHT materials to kids & parents & explaning about proper & safe bicycle riding.
No big deal that I missed riding my solo century today, the month isn't over yet, I'll still get it done before then. It felt pretty good that I helped youngsters learn a little something about bicycle safety.

You will always find time to ride. You don't always get a chance like this one.
