Great Lakes - Westlake Crits?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Does anyone have any information on the Westlake Crits? I have not been able to find any listing for the series. Even my team site, Stark Velo, does not have a listing.

I have "heard" that they will be run this year but a little later than usual. I will let you know if I hear more soon.

In an email with Chris a few months ago he said "mid-April".
I found the website for it last year by googling my name, there wasn't much though; just the results and such.

I guess I'll just have to wait and keep practicing in the graveyard in Valley City.

Received this today
Thanks to all who have been asking about the 2009 Westlake Series. I apologize to those I have not responded to directly.
Tentative start date will be May 5 - this is pending a few final approvals and I will send a confirmation email with the official start date. If we don't start the 5th, we will likely start the 12th.
Series structure will be similar to last year in terms of payout (weekly cash, points accumulate toward crown, but no overall cash) with cost remaining at $12. The biggest change will be length of series - running May thru August for 16 or 17 weeks instead of usual 25 or 26.

Sweet news! Just tonight I finished putting together my new crit bike. I purchased a new $78 aluminum frame from Price Point and a new CF fork from Performance, a couple other new bits and the rest was from old bikes and replacement pieces laying around. Now I have a 'crash and burn ride' and it wont matter when I come home from the race and say, "honey I crashed and broke my $78 bike in two pieces". That's a lot easier to say than "honey, do you think we have $2,000 for me to buy a new bike frame?"
