Hey everyone,

I've been signed on here for awhile and every 6 months or so I find myself back here, and I finally want to buy myself a decent road/cyclocross bike and start going further with my riding.

I've got a big old Norco touring bike at the moment (I'm 6'5") that has served me well, and am trying to learn all that I can about components, wheels, frames, etc, to purchase a new bike (within the new month or so). My max is $1500, and I want to make sure that I make a good decision. Eventually would like to explore joining a cycling group as well...

Anyway, glad to be hear, and no longer lurking, so look forward to learning and contributing. If you have any advice/suggestions on new bikes or cycling groups, I'm all ears.

Look at the Brodie Ronin and Kona Jake the Snake. It is 25 years since I lived in TO, but there are informal rides that start from High Park.
