Back to work this week after my crash ,after 3 months it'l be hard , I've been riding the road bike for a week now & my old 27" rain bike for about 3 weeks . I rode 45ks on Fri. which included a long climb up to Pyes Pa, my leg seemed to handle it ok but it ached a bit that night ,so I should be able to cope with the commute to work OK.I'm still walking with a limp & find climbing stairs painfull, though climbing vertical steps/ladders seems OK.I had the hip & femur X-rayed last week & all seems to be alright according to the orthopedic specialist who cleared me to return to work, I was impressed with the amount of titanium they've bolted in my leg ,it looks like the bottom half of a golf club in there ! Anyhow I'll see how it all goes but it's certainly great to be back on a real bike again,( as opposed to the exercycle thingy), unfortunatly I missed the best of the summer & will be starting of in the winter. I rode in the peak traffic last week & found it abit unnerving but I'll get used to it again , though I'm scarred of another fall but the specialist assures me that the leg is stonger now than before!

I think it's natural to be scared of another fall, I know I was in my (slightly less serious than yours) crash last year. I'm not so sure it's a bad thing either. It helps keep us aware of the possibilities we might otherwise overlook.

Glad you're doing so well. I suppose you'll have to get a titanium bike to go with your titanium parts.

Don't I wish, I suspect the bit in my leg cost more than a Lightspeed, fortunatly I did'nt have to pay for it,
thanks for all your good vibes. The Forum has helped me maintain my interest & contact with cycling whilst hobbling around on crutches & feeling down, as you do!:D
