Introductions - Summergirl

Hello, from Oregon!!! I'm NEW to this bike scene, but really looking forward to it. I just bought a Trek Navigator 200 tonight, used from craigslist. I know very little about it-don't know year, or much else... I'm on here trying to learn more about it. I'm hoping I didn't get a bike that is too big for me. Crossing my fingers.

I'm a married mother of 3 and after this most recent baby, I feel like I want to get back into exercising and doing more "healthful" things with my family. That's why I ended up getting to this website!

I rode a Trek Navigator 200 for about eight years. Put more than 5,000 miles on it, and other than tune-ups, it never needed any additional money spent on it. My wife still has and rides her. They're comfortable bikes that work well for commuting or joy rides. We've hauled a lot of kids with them too (four kids in two trailers), and they've handled it all fine. It should say the size on the frame, if you look down from the seat post. Welcome to bikeforums.

If you can put your heel on the pedal at the bottom of the stroke with you leg straight, it is the right size. The adjustable stem allows a lot of adjustment to the bar position - both height and reach. Will you be riding by yourself or with the rest of your family?

I'll be starting out using my bike to ride to the park to walk with my friends. I figured it would be a double whammy on the exercise factor. The park is about 2 miles away and I usually drive, so that would be my first goal of usage. Otherwise, I'm hoping once our smallest gets bigger, we can take out the two little ones in the bike trailer and have our oldest ride along on her bike. I'm really looking forward to hitting some bike paths in the area! Should be exciting!:)
