Introductions - Hello from Portland, Oregon!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

My name is Kate, new to this site, long time rider and I'll be hanging out in the Roadie section mostly. I'm just getting back on the bike after a year off due to some major life changes, it's been a bit of a struggle but finally I feel I'm over the hump and it's getting fun again!
My goal is to work back into doing 2 or more century rides a year again. I'm not a racer, I ride for the pure pleasure of it. I guess you could call me a recreational rider with lots of passion.
Oh and my ride is named "FlyGirl", she's a 1999 Serotta Atlanta 48cm with Campy Chorus components, ahhh she's a dream to ride and a beaut to look at. Me, well someday I'll be good enough for her, until then she just puts up with me. Yeah we have a great relationship. ;)
Thanks for listening, hope to meet more of you soon.

Hi Kate,
I'm new here, too. I'll do the introduction thing in a bit. But in the meantime, since you're an Oregonian and want to ride in a century or two, I'd like to invite you out to the coast in September for the Oregon Coast Cycling Festival.
As they say on the Price is Right....C'mon down!

I'll tag on to that. I'm in Eugene and thinking about doing the Oregon Coast Cycling Festival. Maybe I'll see you all then. Happy trails.

Hi Kate!
I'm in Tigard OR and am new to this site also. I am know as "the machine" in spin class and love riding hilly areas. I'm not much of a speed freak though and am a little timid on the down hills if they are steep.
Did my first Century Reach the Beach and it was great. I plan on doing another when my schedule lightens up.
Nice to hear from other Oregonians
