Gara Pistas are no more...
Can anyone confirm/deny this? YoJimbos had some interesting info on the discontinuance of these frames.

the one I got is one of the older steel lugged ones...are you saying that the newer tig welded ones are no longer available? what did yojimbos have to say about them?

How did you come to find out that Bike Works had the lugged ones? Do you happen to know if they have more? I'll pick one up if they have a 57cm or so.

Something to the effect that the cost to make these frames is higher than it should be, som they will not be made (the Gara Pista).
YoJimbos has a 58cm, and a few other sizes (Slim pickens)...Jasonyates, give Marcus @ Yojimbos a call if you are interested in the the newer Gara Pista frame/fork.

Jason, I found it because another forum member alerted me to it after I made a post last week about rying to find one of the older lugged models....it was listed on their "used for sale" section, and it's just about my size...maybe a tad under my size, but my bike now is a tad too big, so it'll be a nice change, IMO.

hmmm...intersting...I was worried you were going to say "Oh, they found them to be defective..."

Ok, the frame came and yesterday Budget Pro Bikes in eagle rock switched all my parts over.

so tonight was the first ride and I have to say, it rules. it's the best bike I've ever had..seriously. it handles great, the size is perfect for me, it has nice clearance, and I even love the color.

you know how you find a bike and you're like "I like this bike...I think I'll ride it for a while..." but what's really going on is you kinda like it, but it's like a stand by until you see another frame you like better? this olmo is the better frame that came along. This is "my" bike...like "the one".

anyways, I'll post pics at some point if anyone is interested.

You should marry it. The sex might be a bit dissapointing though.

I don't think I want to see a pic of either DigDug getting married to his bike OR having sex with it.

I don't know. I have heard of Auto-erotica. I would be interested in seeing some Velo-erotica.
Conspiring minds want to know.
