Anyone know if the Esge double will work on a Big Dummy?

I would say no, but I suppose with enough re-engineering it could be made to mount somehow. The Kickback or Rolling Jackass stands would be a better choice.

Wow that Rolling Jackass stand sure is expensive! That prices me out instantly. Too bad. Looks like a good solution.

I'd like to install footies so I'm considering all options.

Wow, for that sort of money, the jackass should pedal me around! Phew!

Hmm...this sounds familiar - for the original pricing discussion, see this thread: http://www.bikeforums.net//showthread.php?t=411941 and for the pricing discussion along with a comparative review featuring the Rolling Jackass and the Kickback, see here: http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=426070 Also, some good pictures of what the double Esge looks like on the Dummy. It's definitely an interesting question to ponder - yes, you can easily get a whole bike for $350.00, but for the most part, you do get what you pay for, and I like to build for long term durability and reliability in extreme situations. Only you can decide what you really need, but I am happy to provide any information I can.

Now that I look at that pic, it's really off center. I wonder if that effectively makes it a single.

The Xtracycle stand totally makes sense but I want to run footsies.

Even though I have the Kickback Stand on my Xtra, when I save my pennies and get a BD, I will put a Rolling Jackass Stand on it. It is a hassle to put on Wideloaders if you remove them frequently. Whenever something has to be fixed on my truck, it costs me FAR more than the jackass stand.

I'm sure for some, $350 is a good deal for a kickstand. Some people drink $2,000 Bordeaux and drive $100,000 cars. Perhaps Robin Leach can do a tour of the manufacturing facility..."get out your checkbook, because this two legged beauty costs a cool $three fifty...." LOL.

I can assure you I don't live large but if you compare the price of bike parts to car parts, a bike is practically free.

Not sure wht relevance this has, when thinkining about bicycles.

Car parts are cheap compared to jet aircraft parts.

Jet aircraft parts are cheap compared to space shuttle parts.

All irrelevant when on compares the price of one bicycle kickstand to another.

Or, as you imply, since bicyle parts are, in general, cheaper than car parts, one oughtn't to compare or think very hard and just buy the first, super-expensive kickstand one sees?

No, my point is, if you set up your bike well, it can replace your car (small truck in my case). I don't think my bike is going to replace a jet. The reason I brought up the cost of car parts in a discussion about kickstands, is that I believe both the Rolling Jackass and the Kickback stands make the Xtra or BD so much more useful that I can use my bike more often instead of my small truck. I do remodel/handy man work so I have to haul quite a few tools and materials and make runs to the hardware store and I never thought I would be able to do it without a truck. The Kickback stand (with modifications) have made that possible. The Rolling Jackass with its lever control would be even better with some of the bigger loads and it would be easier to change out the Wideloaders and I can't even use the Footsies with the Kickback Stand. If someone is hauling uneven loads like 2x4's and 10 foot sections of pipe, I strongly recommend at least the Kickback Stand.
