Hey everyone today I gave myself a layoff present(I'm 16 and just got laid off so this is a cheer up), my first road bike.

I went to my local bike store and tried out a few bikes in the 500-600 price range. I tried the trek 100 and the giant ocr 3. I liked them both but before i took the trek I wanted to try the upper model. The trek 1200. I test rode the 1200 and fell in love.

I just returned from my ride. I did about 10 miles in about 15 minutes. I love the new bike, soooo much faster than riding my mountain bike on the road. Also you roadies aren't so mean, every one of you I passed waved or said a nice word :)

10 miles in 15 minutes eh?? You better go call up Lance and Co.. ;) they could use you on their team!! (thats 40mph!)

well, maybe i was exaggerating a bit haha, it may have been 20, I know that I passed a car going about 25

I also couldn't believe it when I first rode a road bike.

Makes my mountain bike feel like a slug:D

Hehe.. its ok.. I remember my first ride on a road bike.. I too felt like I was going 40mph!! :)

Layed off at 16, what a hard lesson in life. Ah but what the hell you got a bike now and your lovin it, ride on brother...
