hi all,

just a quick question for the experts in this forum - is the dahon boardwalk easily upgradeable ? can i easily change the rear/front hub, cassette, crank and brakes and other components ?

TIA,
vic

i meant EXPERTS and not EXOERTS on the title header. my apology

Dahons change a good bit from year to year. It may depend on when yours was made.

yes but it will stay the Boardwalk frame and fork, which is the lowest in the whole dahon line. Better to get a Speed D 7 and start from that ..... better fork frame handlebar etc etc ...

what if i just change the fork and leave the frame. at least it still is a dahon frame (chromoly). and change the cranks (triple), cassette, brakes, derailleurs, and other components. will that work ? will i have a decent one then ?

thanks thor,

Why change something that's not broken? I would just convert it to an IGH and replace things as they break (that's, if they break). An adjustable stem/post would be nice too.

maybe i am one of those people that will fix things eventhough they're still working. i love working on stuff. yes i want to change the stem/handle post to an adjustable one. where can i get it ? i was looking into IGH but would rather have the cassette and derailleur. i like seeing the gears shifting from high to lo. weird, ha.

thanks,

Thor sells the handle post. I think the BW has a horizontal drop out, so a derailleur mod might be harder to do. I'm not sure though.
