If anyone wants to join me, I'm going to do a loop, that goes through OLH, Hwy 35, Hwy 84, Pescadero Creek Road, then up Alpine, to Page Mill, then back to Palo Alto.
Thinking of meeting up at Gunn HS (Arastradero, near Foothill Expy). Thinking about starting at 10 am. It'll be about 39 miles, and 5100 feet climbing. I wouldn't necessarily call this a recovery ride, unless it's Marco or Ramon.

I am looking for a Sunday recovery/mellow ride and a way to work up the appetite without being a zombie at dinner, and I kinda miss the good folk @ BF rides. Depending on how the legs feel Sat night, hopefully I will be in.

Got the kids. I seem to miss all the peninsula rides. OK, lately I just seem to miss all the rides.:(

I'm a maybe for part of it...was thinking I could ride up Alpine and Skyline to meet you guys at the top of OLH or at Alice's, then descend 84 together, and I'll take Pescadero home.

10 am start time.
Two best things about the ride ... OLH, and Alpine. A third honorable mention ... might actually be able to ride with msincredible ... might;)
Wow, that's really weird. I was planning to do that exact route (except starting from Robert's Market in Woodside) today, but got lazy and just rode around here instead.
I may have to show up. But if I do, I'll likely be the only one other than Ron.

I'd love to but I gotta go to Church then hunt for Easter "eggs" with the kids.

I'll be verrrrrrry slow on the ride ... slower than normal. Today's Hicks ride was epic ... we even added Bohlman/On Orbit ... and that was before even hitting Hicks

Eat lotta Wheaties! I'm just looking to spin. Speed is of no concern.

I'm tempted to join since it's so close. Call me a "maybe".
Are you guys stopping for artichoke bread in Pescadero? Ramon was raving about it, a while back, and I can't get it outta my head... :)

Looks like I missed two great rides on Saturday so I will be there for this one. Depending on how my legs feel I may take the dead end road down to Portola Redwoods SP to get some extra climbing (this branches out off Alpine road and would add 9 miles, 1500' according to klimb).

We're not going to Pescadero ... heading straight for Alpine, then climb.

Nice seeing you guys today. :)
I ended up taking Tunitas Creek over the hill for a total of 48 miles, about 5700'. And my timing was perfect for meeting at the top of OLH.
Only took a couple of pictures.

This is a great shot!
It was great seeing you at the top of OLH. Nice, short and sweet. Yes, I was gutting it out on Alpine, the only way I know how to climb Alpine. 39.82 miles, 4964 feet climbing (according to Garmin).

It was nice to do a ride that wasn't a commute and that wasn't a gladiatorial century. Yet I still managed to wipe myself out on this one and bonked shortly after I got home. Just wasn't eating or drinking enough today.
Anyway I set a new fastest OLH time and really enjoyed the climb up Alpine with all the big bright poppies on the hillside. I just didn't expect to come home and collapse in my bed for 2 hours. After this ride it feels like flat commuting miles aren't "real" and I can tell I haven't been hitting the hills as much lately.

While I wasn't there in spirit, I was there physically, just several miles behind.
I got there (on time!) after everyone had apparently taken off, so I set out anyway thinking I might catch up. Well, I knew the loop, but not so much the getting to it. Took a few wrong turns before I recognized something. If I had any hope in hell of catching all you fast people in the first place, it was long gone after that. :P
My body this morning was insistent that I sleep more than four hours, using tactics such as muscle pain and mild sickness to try to get me to give up, but I'm glad I ignored all of that and went. It was a lovely day, and a great ride. I don't think I've done Alpine before, but I liked it.
With wrong turns, I ended up with 45 miles and about 4500 feet.

On time by who's watch? We didn't leave Gunn HS until 10:05 am, and we took a short pit stop at the Arastradero rest rooms, then headed onward. Oh well ... sorry you missed us.
My clock said 9:57 when I pulled into the lot. ;) And hey, I did a Slowpoke series ride yesterday that didn't roll out for something like a half an hour after start time.
No worries, I had a great time.

Nice ride. I also felt wiped afterwards. It was my first time up Alpine, and it's a great climb. I'm glad to know now that there's a 40-mile loop with good climbing right near where I live. Thanks for organizing it, Ron. It was good going up OLH in an easy manner and not worry about trying to see how fast I can do it.
