My planned setup is a Avid Mech in the front and a decent VBrake in the back, but first I will need new wheels that are disc compatible as well as the discs. I want decent equipment and I don't have the money right now, so discs will have to wait. I use my front brake about primarily and my rear when I need a bit of extra power. I find the current Tektro Vbrakes I have a little lacking in power and they always seem to be out of adjustment.
I am looking to get a new pair of front VBrakes for now (probably Avid Archrivals) and when I get discs I would like to move them to the back. I see cheap brakes use the same for front and back, but the good Vs seem to be sold as unique front and back. What is the difference between them? Can the front brake be used on the back?
Thanks.
