Are the General Lee and Hazard County ever going to fade away. Its a cultural embarassment that never ends.
I am very concerned for all the kids I see riding their tiny bmx bikes to get around. They either have to stand up and pedal or try to pretend their not miserable sitting in the saddle with their heels almost hitting the backs of their theighs with each pedal stroke. With the fixie trend on top of that, I think the smart money is studying to be an orthopedic surgeon in the intervening years until these kids can no longer walk.

I'm 6'2", and I ride a BMX fairly regularly. Standing up to pedal is mandatory, sitting down and pedaling on a BMX simply does not occur, unless you are a total failure.
Why would standing up to pedal cause anyone to "no longer walk"? You do this on a road bike when you want to put power down, too, just less frequently than on a BMX.
Sounds like you're just butthurt about missing out on how much fun 20" is.

It starts at .99 to attract attention, but it never ends there. They always sell for what they're worth, or even more, unless the seller is adamant about "no shipping." That's why the buyer has been "nominated" to this thread.
And don't forget, that auction is far from over.

I know that there are a lot of bad spellers out there...but things that always make me chuckle are things like "new breaks" "rides good" etc... Then there are the completely clueless...who appear to write "detailed" descriptions apparently without actually looking at the bike. Examples include things like "Cannondale Mirage cranks" and "Shimano Deora hub".

I had one here in Tampa, the girl wrote, "my boyfriend works in a shop and just tuned it up so you know everything works."
I emailed her: "You need to find a new BF and your current one needs to find a new job. Even with the crappy CL pictures I'm able to see at least 7 things wrong with the bike. He's not doing you any favors."

Recently, in my local CL I see a lot more single sellers who are finding an old bike, stripping it of parts, converting to a hack-job fixie and selling them for $200 - $300. No cleaning of the rusty chain, no washing the bike, just pull it out of the dumpster, whack the parts off and call it a fixie for big $.
Some of them are actually interesting bikes that should be sold for $100 with all parts so someone can at least clean and use it. I bet these fools bin the old parts, leaving the bikes hopelessly hacked up. What a waste. It's like they have no pride or respect to actually clean and lube and restore a bike, even to make it a gleaming example of a fixie.
I guess if they are selling then I need to get into the business too.

Pearl Izumi shorts - Slightly soiled.
This was the spare shorts so they have less then 5 hours riding on them.
Ruthie had it made as her spare shorts for the 2001 Mountain Bike World
Championships. She ended up racing on her performance bike shorts.
Looks like the left leg has a little more time on it as part of the Pearl Izumi

Ruthie had it made as her spare bike for the 2001 Mountain Bike World

logo is worn off (Ruthie always set her feet so close in that her shoe
rubbed on the crank). The Easton carbon seat post/ bars and Ritchey stem were added after the Worlds
replacing the original Bontrager setup. Other then that the bike is as
Ruthie originally had it set up.

"*^* Radio for bicycle (handlebar mount) - $15 (Union Square)"
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3636/3428434106_9624951737_o.jpg
If you're reading this, it's still available. I'm usually pretty good at taking stuff down that's sold.
Want some music as you're riding your bike? Ipod too dangerous? Taxis intimidate you? If so, maybe it's time to HTFU! (ask someone if you don't understand).
Well, if you don't want to HTFU, maybe this handlebar radio/horn is for you. The best part is.......the whole world can listen to what you're listening to. Well, not the whole world, just people around you. It also depends how fast you're moving. If you're riding 7mph on the west side bike path, the joggers & rollerbladers behind you (who are waiting for an opportunity to pass) will enjoy your tunes.
Dial in your station of choice (Z100, Kiss FM, Hot 97, Fresh 102.7, Power 105.1, Lite FM, News Radio 88, 1010WINS, etc.) and enjoy! See that lady up there with her dog? Hit that horn button to alert her you (and the 7 other people behind you are approaching in an aerodynamically tight 8mph echelon paceline). When you hit the horn (works the same way as a horn in the car), the radio function will automatically mute Amy Grant's "Baby Baby".
The guys in my triathlon team don't really enjoy listening to Amy Grant or Paula Abdul. I personally enjoy it very much. But I received a few "broom in the spokes" type threat if I don't take this thing off my bike. So.....it has to go!
Besides, I think it's time I take my training to the next level. With this radio, my bike weighs in at 14.2lbs. With it off (and when I take a rather large dump in the morning before my ride), I can get the bike to 13.659382lbs. As I take my riding to the next level, maybe you can enjoy this radio as much as I have over the past 48 (or was it 49) years.
Cheers!!!

This is why I'm getting depressed living here looking for deals.
All these guys do around here is comb through all the goodwill stores converting bikes into fixies or listing one turd for the price of three.
So that "sandman" grew 4 inches in 2 months and the bike doesn't fit? Wow.

I went to the Salvation Army thrift store today to check out their bikes. I find an okay chromo framed road bike that was kinda beat up. THEY WANTED $180 FOR IT. That is one hell of a profit I would say. They get bikes donated at no cost to them, then tape a piece of paper to the seat and frame with a price of $180!
