Road Cycling - Profile AirStryke 2000 or Syntace C2?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Which is the better bar? I'm having problems deciding....the AirStryke w/ the flip up pads seem nice but have they improved the design at all or do they all still rattle? The Syntace pads are more towards the rear of your arm vs the middle, which makes sense...but of course takes up more room on the bar.
Anyone here use both and if so which is the one you liked more? I can get the AirStryke for $99 from my LBS but would have to order the C2 ~$118 online as no-one around here carries it.

i have the airstryke ones wiht the flip-up pads, and have never noticed a rattle. also, i really like the fact that they flip up so you can still use all of the tops of your bars.
actually, if you're interested, i'd probably sell you mine as i'm not really using them much anymore. make me a reasonable offer and they're yours - just send me a pm.

I got the replacement part for my Profile aerobars and so far the rattle is absent. Only have about 100 miles of aerobar usage. I only use them on week-long bike tours and when my hands stay numb.

Anyone have C2 Clip on comments? What about their Streamliner?

I've had both and I like the C2 better. The AS seemed nice at first, but the rattle in the flips when I hit bumps was annoying and the pads seemed oddly positioned, even after I reversed them to be further back along my arms.
The C2s are lighter, more comfortable, feel more stable, have bigger pads, and don't press my thumbs against one another. (I hated that.)

I have the C2's. The bend in the bar gives you an extra hand position. They're very solid, expecially if you have the bridge on the ends. On my one bike, I still use my STI's on the bullhorns.

Well I took a look at both at my LBS and decided to opt for the AirStryke. It appears (I have a call into Profile to confirm) that they have redesigned the unit to not rattle or at least as much as it did previously. The biggest drawback from the C2 was the reduced area on the flat part of the bar, basically making it impossible to mount anything there OR put you hands there.
I decided to stick with the LBS since they were switching out my brakes for Avid Shorty 4's and installing my FlightDeck computer anyway...supposed to be able to pick it up tomorrow, I can't wait! :)
