Heres a Peuguot "Competition" PKN10E, it's a 64cm frame with hand brazed Nervex lugs, Reynolds 531 tubing, alloy Franco Italia D 352 bars, alloy ATAX stem, "LightRace" headset, alloy Weinmann Drillium brake levers, Weimann hoods, alloy SR seat post, alloy Weinmann 605 brake calipers, alloy Stronglight Drillium chainrings, alloy Stronglight crank arms, alloy Simplex F and RD, alloy Mavic wheels, alloy low flange Normandy hubs, seat and pedals are not orig, all else appears to be orig, I say "appears" as the catolog states "Maillard" low flange hubs on Mavic wheels.
Heres a catolog pic:

I am very careful about rust. I would pull the seat and shine a flashlight down the seat tube to look for rust (actually, I would pull the bottom bracket, but that is more work of course). I don't like the rust around the seat post lug, but it could be/probably is superficial.

Around here, $200 to $250 in ready to ride (fresh tires, cables, bearings lubed, etc) and no rust condition. But I would look for miamijim to wade in, he knows his Peugeots.

Rust is just that, superficial, I checked the seat lug VERY carefully and it (rust) is not under the lug. :thumb: seat tube and stem have been removed and very little to no rust found. :thumb: seat tube and stem were regreased ("Phil" Waterproof Grease) and reinstalled. :) I'm waiting on a reply from miamijim but will take what I get in the meanwhile. :)

With that minor rust, I would buy some of the rust converter at Walmart ($6) and spot treat it. Follow up with some model enamel paint, and the bike will be looking good!

Most of these are "as found" pics, its been cleaned up since and most of the rust is no longer visable.

Sorry,

I thought I had previously replied. Peugeot prices are all over the map and there's no rhyme or reason for it. I've seen low to mid level PH10's go for almost $300 and early 80's PX10's go for $300.

I'm thinking a similar figure to what Bill came up with....$200-250 in road ready condition.

I agree. 200 to 250 in the Philly market for that bike in ready to ride condition.

I bought a Super Competition in the same paint scheme as yours, a few differences, maybe a little higher end for $260.00. Mine is ALL 531. It has no rust to speak of and hardly a scratch. I was offered $500.00 on the street in Chicago the first day I took it out. I agree with Miamijim that the prices occur without pattern. . I would say cleaned up you might expect $250.00 if someone who knew Peugeots was looking for a taller bike. It rides really well.
