OK I have a super V 500 1998 model frame with mix and matched parts. I wanted to know if the frame has disc tabs on it.

I have already e-mailed cannondale 5 times about it and that was over 1 1/2 weeks ago and they still haven't responded.

You can't tell by looking? Post a picture of the seatstays and dropouts if you can.

Im pretty sure they are disc tabs but I want to be sure. I have to wait for my dad to come home with the camera, then I'll get some pictures.

BTW Is this a typo?

Wow! That's a great price if it's true. BTW, I like the term "braking dexterity". :)

I wish that was a typo! $11.99 for XT discs! Maybe with a 99% off coupon. :)

The grit/dust/sand or what ever you wanna call it only means one thing. Nice riding conditions. Wish I had those kind of trails in my area.

Even at 123.99 thats a good price for the brakes. BUT... to set your bike up with disk brakes you will still need Levers, hoses, hubs and spokes, or a new wheel set.

I know I need that stuff to use disc brakes. Im planning on running Hayes.

BTW You didn't see the link before they changed it, the price was $11.99 for the XT discs.

Just a thought, but only 2000 -2004 year bikes have the ISO Standard disc brake spacing. Your bike frame does have mounting holes for "some type" of disc brakes, but who knows what type that is? Formula maybe? I ran into that same problem with my '99 & '97 K2 Flyin' Monkey & Beast... Just thought I'd warn you before you spent alot of $$$. I had to buy a new bike just so that I could use the new wheelset & Hayes HFX-9 disc brakes that I bought beforehand.... Good Luck !
PS. All current front suspension disc forks EXCEPT Manitou have the ISO mounts. Manitou chose to be different and use a "post" mount on their disc forks.... An extra $$$ adaptor will allow any disc system to fit however.

Hmmmm, didn't know about the mount size thing. Thought there was only ISo and post-mount.

Do you know how to measure the tabs to see if they are ISO or post mount?

Cannondale's are ISO standard. You're good to go!

should be 51mm hole center to hole center. If 74mm or anything other than 51mm, ISO the new brakes on the market WON'T fit, I promise you! :o

If in doubt, just take it to a LBS, and act like you're interested in some disc brakes they have. They'll measure your frame for you. Good luck. Be sure before you spend the $$$. It's easy for others to say they'll fit, but listen when I say that I've been there already... ;)
