Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Anyone planning on the OPUS Tuesday Night Worlds tonight in 'tonka?
Going to be a gorgeous day to be in the saddle...

Yup.
Yup.
I'd say it'll be nice to meet you, but I'd rather stay anonymous until I see the results of my first race...:innocent:
I'm going to stick around for a couple of the later races though.

The results of your first ten races don't matter one bit.

Thankfully:innocent:
Great evening for riding...first time this season in just bib shorts and short sleeves.
Cat 5 race was uneventful. Very fast, and short.
Lined up next to three other first timers, one couldn't get clipped in at the start and fell off right away. I held on to the back of the "main pack" for 3 laps, then joined the strung out 2/3 of the rest of the field, really going solo for the rest of the race.
Didn't see the sprint finish (around the corner), but wasn't far behind as I saw the back of the pack sitting up at the crest of the hill just after the finish as I approached.
Finished upright. Didn't get lapped. Can't wait for next week.
Goal accomplished.
Anyone else?

I held on for almost 3 laps, then joined the long string of riders that slowly fell behind the pack, then ended up in the middle going solo for the last lap and a half. But I finished, and didn't get lapped/pulled.
It really felt like a free for all with the race running in the left lane, and a lot of riders warming up in the right lane (and cars and buses:rolleyes:), with a lot of criss crossing on the down hill. At later points, it did get kind of hard to determine who was actually in the race, and who was just riding.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that it was very easy to blend in the first race.
