Anyone in New York City know of places that may rent travel cases? Alternately, are any of you maybe looking at selling yours or fine with renting it to a complete stranger? I am going on vacation in just over a month and panicking a bit about giving the bicycle to JFK baggage handlers! I'm not looking for one of those crazy 50 pound portable bomb bunkers - ideally I'd like a soft-case with some kind of internal skeleton. Someone was selling one of those Pika Packworks cases on craigslist last week but at that point I was still going the well-packed cardboard box route. I've even thought about having faith in humanity and going the 'nothing but a clear plastic bag' route (the logic here is that your bicycle is seen as a bicycle not a suitcase to be thrown around) but I don't think my airline allows that.
