Homemade. I don't think those were production level. I knew a few riders that used them, but they were never purchased.
ya when i asked him where he got it he said that some guy gave it to him at the shop he works at and for the other chain ring thing?? oh and what would be another good chain guide buy not to bulky

What do you consider bulky?...you could just make one. 2 zipties and an old sproket from a broken deraileur.
i dunno but i found this mounts to chain stay uses a spring to tighten up the chain this was the sort of this i was looking for is this a good product?

no idea. I have never seen it. But really it is a simple device. It should be fine.
ya looks good i'll hit up my LBS. and what about the chain ring thing i think its for when your running a single chain ring you have your bash guard on one side and your chain ring then on the other side there is like a plate making sort of a channel for your chain is there a name for this peice? pretty sure its not home made

If I remember Ethirteen was working on something like that.

Yeah I don't think they have gone ahead with it. Some thread on ridemonkey about it being nixed...
That link above is a Kore chain tensioner. Because it's Kore, it should be very strong. Tensioners work, but they are not as good as a true chain device, ie. MRP, Ethirteen, etc.

I bought one of those Kore chain tensioners. Never used it! It's sitting in a box somewhere in my garage. My chainstays were too thick and it didn't fit, so there it sits.

Devices like that used to be pretty popular, there where at least half a dozen designs I can remeber. They don't really make much difference to anything. If you need something to keep the chain on get a proper guide.
i finally found one ..: http://www.bikeusa.com/MERCHANT2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=MSGI&Product_Code=CH2036 wondering if anybody has expirence with this site bikeusa.
