General Cycling Discussion - Anyone know any cheap sources for saddles?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I just picked up a GT Palomar for Performance for pretty cheap as a commuter and to ride to class and such. I have been riding my Specialized Hardrock, but I have decided to make it a dedicated MTB and do some upgrades and stuff. The saddle that came on the GT is huge and really padded and quite uncomfortable. I have become used to my quite minimalist SSM Aspide Arrowhead. So, I am looking for a cheap saddle that isnt overly padded and such. The bike is left outside quite a bit and theft is an issue and the weather tends to take a toll on saddles as well. I also need something that is all vinyl or whatever as cloth tends to hold a lot of water. This bike gets ridden about 30 miles/ week, but the longest rides are usually around 2 miles.

Anyway, does anyone have any sources for cheap saddles? I don't like the idea of used saddles, so no used ones from ebay. Lets say $25 max, preferably cheaper. Already checked the parts bin at the LBS with no luck.

Thanks.

The Selle Royal Look-In (http://www.performancebike.com/shop/large_photo.cfm?SKU=18962&Store=Bike) saddle at Performance seems in the right pricerange and has a fairly narrow profile.

1140g?!? I am sure that has to be a typo. Provided it is, that looks decent. Thanks. Anymore ideas?

Probably not as minimalist as your used to but it's under $25.

I have always found saddles at the LBS. Usually ones that have been swaped out for something better, ie moving up to a Fi-sik or something. That's what I get. I found several Selles in the bin, and have had really nice riding saddles with them. I've only bought two new saddles, one (Serfas road saddle) has been an excellent fit for me, the other a real pain in the butt.
If the first LBS doesn't have it, maybe the next one will. I'm a familiar face in a lot of bike shops in the Twin Cities.

Ask around at your LBS or ask them for names of other cyclists. Most of us have several old, but perfectly functional, saddles in a box in the garage (want an Avocet O2, or a stock Bontrager?).

If you're not too picky, most bike shops will have a box of unused OEM saddles that have been upgraded for something else. I'd think some of them would be perfect for a campus bike or a bike that spends most of it's life outside. We'd usually give the customer a $5.00 credit for their old saddle and try to sell them for about $10.00. We always had way more of these saddles than we had customers for them so don't be afraid to bargain shamelessly!

Check out the Nashbar website. They have markdown bargains all the time. Be sure to check the "Returns" section. I picked up a Leather Gipiemme team saddle for $9.95 plus $6.00 shipping last year. Don
